How Long Does It Take to Become a Real Estate Agent in Texas?

Most School Estate students complete their 180 hours of required coursework in 6 to 8 weeks, studying about 1.5 hours a day, and are licensed and placed with a sponsoring broker in about 10 weeks total from the day they enroll.
Why it's not instant
TREC caps study credit at 12 hours per day, so each 30-hour course takes a minimum of about 3 days. Across six courses, that's an 18-day floor. Almost nobody moves that fast; the real, comfortable pace most students land on is 6 to 8 weeks.
What happens after coursework
Applying to TREC, fingerprinting, and the state exam typically add a few more weeks before you're placed with a broker, which is why the full timeline runs closer to 10 weeks than 8.
What makes the pace work
Daily live Zoom study groups, 2 to 3 times a day including weekends, and a personal mentor instructor available 7 days a week, so the schedule stays realistic without stretching into months.
