What you might be leaving, and what you're keeping.

Long hours, shrinking planning time, and a salary that hasn't kept pace can wear anyone down. This isn't a case against teaching, it's a look at what you'd bring with you if a different chapter ever made sense for your life.

WHAT YOU'RE BRINGING WITH YOU
Skills built in the classroom
  • Explaining complicated ideas in plain language
  • Listening for the question behind the question
  • Building trust with families
  • Managing deadlines, records, and competing priorities
  • Remaining composed during emotional conversations
  • Guiding people through decisions they find intimidating
WHAT REAL ESTATE ADDS
Licensing, contracts, and building a client base

Real estate still requires its own TREC-required education, contracts knowledge, negotiation, and prospecting. Income is commission-based and variable, especially in your first year, and client work can mean evenings and weekends. It's different pressure, not less pressure, and a license doesn't guarantee income, clients, or employment on its own.

Bottom line: you're not starting from zero. School Estate's 180-hour TREC-approved course is the first step, and a broker, not a bot, walks you through every part of it.

YOUR PATH TO LICENSED

How licensing works in Texas.

TREC sets the requirements. School Estate handles the course, the prep, and the support, built to work around your school calendar. Here's the full path, start to finish.

STEP 1
Complete 180 hours of TREC-approved courses

Texas requires six specific courses totaling 180 hours. Both School Estate packages include all six, online at your own pace, with daily live Zoom study groups and a broker mentor available 7 days a week, built to work around lesson planning and grading.

STEP 2
Submit your license application to TREC

Apply online at TREC.texas.gov and pay the state application fee. TREC reviews your eligibility, including background check requirements.

See TREC requirements
STEP 3
Pass the state exam at Pearson VUE

The Texas real estate exam has two sections: National and State. School Estate's exam prep includes 2,000+ practice questions and a live weekend Exam Cram covering the entire exam.

STEP 4
Activate your license with a sponsoring broker

Your license is inactive until a licensed Texas broker sponsors it. School Estate connects every graduate who requests help with a sponsoring broker, this is placement assistance, not a guarantee of a specific brokerage, clients, or income.

Enroll in the 180-Hour Course

Most students complete the 180 hours in about 7 weeks and are licensed and placed in about 10 weeks.

Both packages include all 6 TREC-approved courses, full exam prep, daily live Zoom support, your mentor instructor, and a broker connection when you graduate. School Estate doesn't promise a specific job, clients, or income, that part is on you and your broker.

5.0 rating on Google

After ten years in the classroom, I loved educating people, but I was completely exhausted by the burnout, rigid schedules, and capped salary. Transitioning into real estate felt like a natural extension of teaching, but getting licensed while managing a full-time school schedule felt overwhelming—until I found School Estate.

The online coursework was flexible enough to fit around my lesson planning and grading. But what truly made the difference was the incredible one-on-one instructor support. Whenever I struggled with complex real estate math or contract law, my instructor took the time to explain it in terms I understood. That personalized guidance gave me the confidence to pass my Texas exam on the first try. Now, I use my teaching skills every day to guide buyers through the process, and I finally have full control over my time and income!

David R., Former Texas EducatorVERIFIED GRADUATE

"As a teacher, I was used to being the one explaining tough concepts, but studying for the Texas real estate exam was a whole new challenge. School Estate's online program was phenomenal, but the true game-changer was the one-on-one time with my instructor. They didn't just help me pass the state exam—they gave me the real-world clarity I needed to launch a thriving real estate career. It's the best decision I ever made for my family and my future."
