School Estate
A construction professional walking with a prospective homeowner outside a Texas home, gesturing toward the house
FOR CONSTRUCTION & SKILLED TRADES PROFESSIONALS

You already understand homes from the inside out. The next step is guiding the people buying and selling them.

You know how homes are built, maintained, and priced. School Estate helps you apply that here, with a real person to call while you get there.

You're not approaching property as an abstraction.

Years on jobsites and in homes teach you things a license alone doesn't. That's a real advantage, applied the right way.

WHAT YOU'RE BRINGING WITH YOU
Skills built in construction and the trades
  • Reading a property's real condition, not just its cosmetic presentation
  • Explaining changing conditions and setting realistic expectations
  • Keeping a transaction moving when complications come up
  • Coordinating inspections, financing, documents, and closing deadlines
  • Maintaining records, timelines, and accountability
  • Managing pipeline, expenses, and follow-up like running your own jobs
WHAT REAL ESTATE ADDS
Licensing, fiduciary duty, and client development

Real estate adds a Texas real estate license, contract and agency education, fiduciary obligations, fair-housing compliance, market analysis, and prospecting and client development, plus negotiation training. Construction knowledge can make you a more perceptive agent, but it doesn't replace licensed inspectors, engineers, or appraisers, and a sales agent shouldn't present informal opinions as their findings. School Estate doesn't guarantee clients, income, transactions, or employment, and becoming a broker later requires additional experience, education, and licensing of its own.

Bottom line: you're not starting from zero. School Estate's 180-hour TREC-approved course is the first step, and a broker, not a bot, walks you through every part of it.

YOUR PATH TO LICENSED

How licensing works in Texas.

TREC sets the requirements. School Estate handles the course, the prep, and the support, built to work around jobsite hours. Here's the full path, start to finish.

STEP 1
Complete 180 hours of TREC-approved courses

Texas requires six specific courses totaling 180 hours. Both School Estate packages include all six, online at your own pace, with daily live Zoom study groups and a broker mentor available 7 days a week, built to work around jobsite hours and a trade schedule.

STEP 2
Submit your license application to TREC

Apply online at TREC.texas.gov and pay the state application fee. TREC reviews your eligibility, including background check requirements.

STEP 3
Pass the state exam at Pearson VUE

The Texas real estate exam has two sections: National and State. School Estate's exam prep includes 2,000+ practice questions and a live weekend Exam Cram covering the entire exam.

STEP 4
Activate your license with a sponsoring broker

Your license is inactive until a licensed Texas broker sponsors it. School Estate connects every graduate who requests help with a sponsoring broker, this is placement assistance, not a guarantee of a specific brokerage, clients, or income.

Enroll in the 180-Hour Course

Most students complete the 180 hours in about 7 weeks and are licensed and placed in about 10 weeks.

5.0 rating on Google

After 10 years as a residential job site foreman, I wanted to transition into residential real estate sales so I could spend more time with my family while building a long-term business. School Estate's online format made it possible for me to study in the evenings around my work schedule. The one-on-one instructor support was hands-down the best part of the program. My mentor took complex legal disclosures and contract laws and related them directly to residential housing scenarios I could easily understand. I passed both sections of the Texas exam on my first try and closed 14 single-family home sales in my first year as a residential agent. School Estate gave me the tools, guidance, and confidence to make a seamless career pivot.

Travis O., Former Residential Construction ForemanVERIFIED GRADUATE

"As a licensed residential plumber, I was used to working inside homes every day, but I wanted to move to the transactional side as a buyer's and seller's agent. Going back to school after a decade in the trades felt daunting, but School Estate made the coursework straightforward and engaging. The personalized, one-on-one instructor support was invaluable—my mentor was always there to answer questions about TREC promulgated contracts and Texas agency laws. Thanks to their step-by-step guidance, I felt completely prepared on exam day and passed on my first attempt. In my first six months as a residential agent, I've already closed several single-family deals. School Estate helped me turn my hands-on trade knowledge into a thriving real estate career."
