What carries forward, and what will be new.

Every service record is different. Many veterans bring skills that map naturally to real estate, applied the right way.

WHAT YOU MAY BE BRINGING WITH YOU
Skills many veterans have developed
  • Preparing transaction steps and setting clear client expectations
  • Coordinating inspections, financing, documents, and deadlines
  • Following through on commitments once they're made
  • Explaining complicated processes clearly and directly
  • Staying steady when transaction conditions change
  • Working with clients, brokers, lenders, and other professionals as a team
WHAT REAL ESTATE ADDS
Licensing, prospecting, and variable income

Real estate adds Texas licensing education, agency and contract knowledge, fair-housing compliance, prospecting and personal marketing, local-market knowledge, and negotiation within legal and ethical duties. It's self-directed business activity with variable, commission-based income, not a defined rank or promotion structure. School Estate doesn't guarantee clients, income, transactions, or employment.

Bottom line: you're not starting from zero. School Estate's 180-hour TREC-approved course is the first step, and a broker, not a bot, walks you through every part of it.

YOUR PATH TO LICENSED

How licensing works in Texas.

TREC sets the requirements. School Estate handles the course, the prep, and the support, built to work around transition and Guard or Reserve schedules. Here's the full path, start to finish.

STEP 1
Complete 180 hours of TREC-approved courses

Texas requires six specific courses totaling 180 hours. Both School Estate packages include all six, online at your own pace, with daily live Zoom study groups and a broker mentor available 7 days a week, built to work around transition schedules and Guard or Reserve commitments.

STEP 2
Submit your license application to TREC

Apply online at TREC.texas.gov and pay the state application fee. TREC reviews your eligibility, including background check requirements.

STEP 3
Pass the state exam at Pearson VUE

The Texas real estate exam has two sections: National and State. School Estate's exam prep includes 2,000+ practice questions and a live weekend Exam Cram covering the entire exam.

STEP 4
Activate your license with a sponsoring broker

Your license is inactive until a licensed Texas broker sponsors it. School Estate connects every graduate who requests help with a sponsoring broker, this is placement assistance, not a guarantee of a specific brokerage, clients, or income.

Enroll in the 180-Hour Course

Most students complete the 180 hours in about 7 weeks and are licensed and placed in about 10 weeks.

5.0 rating on Google

After retiring from the Army, I was looking for a career that offered both freedom and a high ceiling for success. Real estate felt like a natural fit, but I needed a school that respected my time and offered a clear path forward. School Estate provided the exact structure and online flexibility I required. But the true game-changer was the one-on-one instructor support. My instructor didn't just teach the material; they showed me how to apply my military discipline and strategic planning to real estate transactions. That personalized guidance helped me build confidence and navigate the Texas contracts with ease. My business has thrived since I received my license, and I owe a massive part of that early success to the groundwork laid by the amazing instructors at School Estate.

"Navigating the civilian world can be challenging after years of service. Transitioning from the Marine Corps, I wanted a career where my drive and focus would yield results. The real estate exam prep at School Estate was intensive, but the personalized support from my dedicated instructor was the catalyst for my success. They truly understood the unique challenges veterans face when changing careers. Whenever I struggled with complex real estate math or specific Texas regulations, my instructor was there, one-on-one, to break it down, ensuring I didn't just memorize the information but mastered it. That support didn't stop once I passed. The strategic advice I received from my instructor during those calls has been invaluable as I've built my real estate business in Dallas."
