TEXAS BROKER LICENSING COURSES

Two ways to lead. Both get you there.

Climbing to a broker license shouldn't mean drowning in unguided PDFs. You get an active Texas broker on speed dial for the brokerage law, the team-building strategy, and everything between you and your own firm.

DO YOU QUALIFY?

TREC requires at least 4 years of active experience as a licensed Texas sales agent (or as an out-of-state broker) within the 5 years before you apply. Not there yet? Start with your Sales Agent license instead — you can come back for Broker once you qualify. See the full Agent vs. Broker comparison.

Why the number matters less than the outcome.

You'll find broker programs that charge twice what we do, and programs that charge half. The number on its own won't tell you which one gets you to broker. What actually matters is what happens after you enroll: who actually logs into your account when you're stuck on advanced brokerage law, who's there the night before your exam, who picks up the phone.

Here, that someone is a personal mentor instructor, an active Texas broker with 25+ years in the field who logs into your account, sees exactly where you are, and answers when you call. That's the math worth doing before you enroll anywhere.

Since 2004
How long we've been doing this, before most online real estate schools existed.
270 hours
Your core qualifying education, all included: the same 180 hours as a Sales Agent license, plus the mandatory 30-hour Real Estate Brokerage course, plus 60 hours across two electives. TREC's full requirement is 900 hours — most agents cover the remaining 630 through existing agent hours, a degree, or qualifying experience. See the full math.

You need the hours fast. You'll also need someone who's done this before.

Speed

Self-paced video courses and daily live support mean you move as fast as you're able to, with no waiting on a classroom schedule.

Paperwork, handled

Your mentor is an active Texas broker who's filed the TREC forms and sponsorships before. You'll know exactly what to submit, and when.

Standing up your brokerage

Beyond the license: guidance on structuring and launching your own firm, from someone who's actually run one.

Before you choose a package, hear from graduates.

WHAT'S ACTUALLY IN YOUR 270 CORE HOURS

The same six agent courses, plus Brokerage, plus two electives.

If you already hold a Texas sales agent license, you've completed the first 180 hours. The Broker Pack fills the rest: the mandatory Real Estate Brokerage course (must be completed no more than 2 years before you apply) and 60 hours across two electives. Both packages include the identical courses.

FROM LICENSED AGENT TO BROKER

Four steps once your coursework and experience report are ready.

STEP 1
Log into REALM

The same TREC portal you already use as an agent, no new account, no activation email.

STEP 2
Apply for the broker license

Attach your course certificates and your BL-A / BL-B experience forms documenting your 720 points.

STEP 3
Pay the $305 application fee

Card payment inside REALM. This covers the application itself, separate from course tuition.

STEP 4
Wait 7-10 days

TREC processes your file and emails your exam eligibility letter, fingerprints already on file from your agent license.

Once TREC clears your file, you schedule your Pearson VUE broker exam. For the full experience-point math and every step in order, see How to Become a Texas Real Estate Broker.
